Art - Yeray - UI design
Hey guys! I'm Yeray, a designer of the WiP team who is organizing how to Art team works. I will upload devlogs related to the decisions taken and assets created by the Art team. If you want to know more, feel free to suggest ideas or ask any questions related to our work! With that out of the way, let's start talking about the UI of our game.
On the top right of this image, you can see what is the basic interface of our game. It has the 3 basic resources (Carbon, Anteros and ZX-22), each one with his representative color; the digital clock, and the basic buttons.
This UI is pretty simple, using only 5 different colors from our palette, and some transparencies for the backgrounds. We tested more detailed UIs but they didnt have so much personality and style like the one that we have finally choosed, without adding the fact that the "clean look" of it makes the 3D game models shine more.
On this other image, you can see the cooking menu that opens on the night phase, when the player has to choose which ingredients he or she is going to use in order to cook dinner. The rations produced should be distributed for each human, being able then to feed a character more than others.
Furthermore, all of the UI that the players sees is should be the same information that our IA protagonist knows (like if we are inside his head).
